Dr Mustafa Ali Mohd FASc.
Dr. Mustafa was a professor in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He was also the Deputy Dean, faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya, and then as Deputy Director of University of Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC).
As an academic, he was promoted to Professor grade A (JUSA A) in the University of Malaya and he was awarded Fellow of the Malaysian Academy of Science and he was also awarded Top Research Scientist of Malaysia in 2012 by the same academy. Prior to this, he was also awarded Excellent scientist award by the Malaysian Ministry of Education in 2005.
He was also in the panel member of consultants to the World Health Organisation (WHO) in several occasions to help in major world crisis such as during the global contamination of melamine in food and food products, and also on issues pertaining to the use and safety of bisphenol A in babies feeding bottles.

He was appointed as a Member of College of Experts Reviewers, European Foundation of Science (EFS). He is an academic advisor to HESTIC (Health, Environment, Science, Technology International Consultant), Tokyo, Japan. He is the founder member, Senior consultant and Director of the Shimadzu UMMC Centre for Xenobiotics Studies in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya.
Since the early years of his career he has conducted extensive research in various disciplines such as Herbal Medicine, toxicology, drugs of abuse, food safety, environmental Health, occupational health, analytical techniques in identification of toxic chemicals and endocrine disrupting chemicals. He was also National Project coordinator for the โ€œUnited Nations University on Environmental monitoring, analysis and governance in East Asia: Technology Transferโ€ based in Tokyo, Japan. He was also a member of the Malaysian National Food Safety council.
